The Past

The Phoenix is one of Cincinnati’s most storied landmarks, with a history dating back to 1893. Originally designed by renowned architect Samuel Hannaford, The Phoenix has long been celebrated for its timeless architecture, historic grandeur, and elegant event spaces. Located in the heart of downtown Cincinnati, it began as the home of the Phoenix Club, a prominent social organization founded by members of the city’s thriving German-American community. In its earliest years, the club served as a gathering place where members celebrated culture, community, and hospitality, with many events and proceedings conducted in German—a reflection of Cincinnati’s rich heritage. More than 90 years later, The Phoenix was officially recognized for its historical significance when it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

The Restoration

Thoughtfully restored and reimagined, The Phoenix offers four distinctive event spaces, additional flex spaces, beautifully preserved architectural details, and multiple levels of gathering spaces designed to accommodate events of all styles and sizes. From intimate celebrations to grand occasions, every event is elevated by the seamless planning, exceptional hospitality, and renowned culinary experiences of DelightMore.
